Things to Do near Blackhawk, Golden, and Gilpin County Colorado

Skiing and Tubing– Enjoy a day on the slopes at nearby Eldora Ski Area.One of the last affordable ski areas in the state, is only 15 miles away. Othernearby ski areas are; Loveland, Echo Mountain, Keystone, A-Basin, Breckenridge, Winter Park/Mary Jane. Echo Mountain and Winter Park offer tubing.
Hiking – The James Peak Wilderness Area and Golden State Park are each only a short twenty-minute drive away. Both offer hiking, fishing, snowshoeing and other outdoor activities. Rocky Mountain National Park is an hour drive away on the Peak to Peak Highway.
Sightseeing – Historic Idaho Springs is a short drive and offers many dinning options in an old mining town. Indian Hot Springs is a great way to soak away your worries and is located in Idaho Springs. Estes Park is located on the other end of the Peak to Peak Highway. Estes Park is the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. It offers many shopping and dining opportunities. The Coors Brewery is open daily for tours and is located in Golden, a 30-minute drive from the house.
Night Life – Black Hawk and Central City offer exciting night life, gambling and gourmet restaurants. They are a very short five-minute drive away. Nederland, Idaho Springs and Golden are within a 30-minute drive and offer many dinning opportunities.
Rafting and Zip Lining – There are multiple rafting and zip lining companies within a short drive.
